Shift from time to space

As soceities from the beginning of time have progressed focus has shifted from time bias to space bias. If you look at the earliest cultures they used mainly oral forms of communication and once they developed some form of writing they began to record on stone. Then the Egyptians discovered papyrus paper and space bias began. But it wasn't really until the invention of the printing press that space bias could really take hold, until then communication was still largely time biased. In the past couple of centuries space bias has developed rapidly- newpapers and magazines, television and internet. It's also interesting to note that as bias shifted from time to space, what people have valued about media has also shifted. In early cultures that were largely oral, although people liked speed, they valued accuracy of news more. Oral communicators were proabably quite accurate considering the high value of oral communication in that time. Oral communication held the entire history and identity of a culture, so those who passed down information really cared about getting it right. In this day and age we are more concerned with getting information quickly and checking the sources later. News websites have reports that are only minutes old. Television stations interrupt shows with breaking news information. I'm not saying that this news is completely inaccurate, however, at the speed which news changes one has to wonder how accurate it all is. I'm not sure whether the shift in what people value about news and media has shifted as a result of the shift from time to space bias, or whether it is the other way around, or maybe it's a little bit of both.
