Author/ity

The Nealon chapter on Author/ity is most similar to the views of the Postman because the two share parallel beliefs about writing. Nealon believes that a writer should script a piece according to how the reader will interpret it. He [Nealon], as well as the Postman, wants the reader to be able to come to their own understanding of the piece being read. This differs from Paglia's viewpoint because Paglia focuses on the visual aspect of writing whereas Nealon is focusing on the interpretation and understanding of the content.
